Winter Collection - Coats

Trapeze Spicysugar Collection Coat found at

Hello Readers
Today is the first day of the Winter Collection series. I'll be discussing the important elements of a winter wardrobe and each day will be featuring one garment or accessory that is essential to every woman's winter wardrobe.

Starting with the Classic Coat, this number one staple piece of clothing is immortal and will live in your wardrobe for decades. The term "Classic" comes from the fact that 'the coat' never really goes out of fashion. Every winter, there is always a new style of coat that comes out however majority of coats are based around the similar cut and whatever style it is, its always a fashionable item.

Featured on my blog is the Trapeze Spicysugar Collection Red Coat. This is a square cut double breasted coat featured with pockets and a removable hoodie. This very cute red coat is a perfect staple piece for my wardrobe as red is a very versatile colour. In winter time, woman tend to stick with blacks and grays however if you are that sort of woman and there is nothing wrong with loving black ( the slimming colour). It is best to go with a prominent colour coat like red, purple or cobalt blue. These colours perfectly compliment darker shades and adds a bit of colour to your wardrobe.
This square cut coat is best suited to lollipop shaped ladies or column shaped women. This coat has a high cut waist band which does add a little shape to the waist but falls straight down to the hips. This style of coat is best suited to smaller bust people and they tend to showcase the double breasted coat better when it is done all the way up.

The best style of coats for pear or apple shapes are the long V-neck single button coats. These coats usually have there pockets at the front of the coat and have a Aline cut from the waist line. These styles of coats are the best for accessorizing as the deep V-neck showcases a gorgeous scarf nicely. Not to forgot to mention that these coats usually are long lined coats that cover the bottom too.

There are plenty of coats around and I am sure once you find your perfect coat you will never let go of it. I own about 4 coats and I love each and every one of them. I will have to move to a colder climate place so I can wear them more often. Here is my tip for buying a coat- Be picky and find the perfect cut for you. As I'm sure you will have this coat for years and years.

Have a great week Everyone :)
